A Sunwell Weekend and a Very Important Letter to Abeke

I’ve been running on empty for too long. Between the endless queues, the overthinking, the gear grind, and everything else that keeps my mind spinning when the lanterns go out, I need this. A quiet weekend retreat near the Sunwell on Quel’Danas. Just time to sit with the Light, breathe, and remember why I keep showing up to heal when half the time it feels pointless. So I’m going. Just for a couple of days.

Which means someone has to watch my house.

I wrote Abeke this letter this morning. Light help me.

Dearest Abeke,

I’m heading to Quel’Danas for a short retreat at the Sunwell. Nothing dramatic… I just need a few days to clear my head and let the Light do some actual work on me for once. I’ll be back by Monday evening.

I’m trusting you to house-sit while I’m gone. Yes, you. Try not to look so surprised.

Here are the rules (I’m writing them down because I know you):

  • Water the plants on the dock every morning. They like the Sunwell-blessed water I keep in the blue jug. Don’t use the fel-tainted stuff, I will know.
  • Don’t touch my tailoring station. I mean it. The half-finished pieces are organized for a reason.
  • The cat gets fussy if you forget to leave out a dish of fish or cream at night. Just a little. Don’t spoil her.
  • Grab the mail each day and bring it inside so it doesn’t pile up in the box… but please, for the love of the Sunwell, do NOT be nosy and read anything that isn’t addressed to you.

In return, I’ll bring you back some of those glowing herbs you like and maybe a bottle of that fancy Quel’Danas vintage if you manage not to burn the place down or turn my dock into a potion lab.

Be good. Or at least pretend to be.

Your very tired big sister,
Sahsha

I sealed it with a little extra wax and sent it off before I could second-guess myself. Part of me is already anxious about coming home to chaos. The other part is relieved. A few days of quiet sounds like exactly what I need right now.

She’ll probably be fine.

Probably?
