A Quiet Breath in the Depths

I needed a break from the battlegrounds. The constant chaos, the random teams falling apart, the overthinking every cooldown while trying not to get farmed… it was wearing on me more than usual. So I stepped away from the queues and slipped into a delve instead. Just me, some shadows, and surprisingly good company.

Valeera Sanguinar joined me.

She moves like a blade in the dark. Silent, precise, the kind of rogue who makes every strike count while I keep the Light flowing between us. I bubble her when things get messy, she vanishes and reappears to tear through threats before they can swarm me. We make a solid pair down there. No drama, no tunneling idiots, just clean work. It feels… peaceful, in its own dangerous way. A real breath of fresh air compared to the shouting matches in Warsong or Arathi.

We talked between fights, the way old companions do when the noise dies down. She’s got that sharp Blood Elf pride, the kind that doesn’t bend easily. I knew only bits of her story. Orphan who survived bandits and worse, turned thief, then gladiator in the Crimson Ring alongside a certain famous human and a druid. She fought her way through betrayal, demons, addiction, and still walks her own path, loyal to friends but never chained to any throne or faction. Hearing her tell it in that low, steady voice made the history feel alive again, like fresh scars instead of dusty pages. She’s seen more than most of us care to imagine, and yet there she is, cracking dry jokes while shanking nerubians.

It’s nice, having someone who gets it without needing a full explanation. No pressure to carry the whole team, no silent competitions at the refreshment counter. Just two Sin’dorei keeping each other breathing in the dark. For once, my mind wasn’t racing about gear or gold or… other things. Just the next pull, the next shadow.

I might do this more often.

…Probably.
