Fishing For Gold While The Queue Hates Me

I’ve discovered my true calling in this expansion: professional AFK fisherwoman.

The battleground queues were taking forever today, a few over 20+ minutes even. I stood on the banks of some random Midnight river, pole in hand with that big ass bobber, Ally judging me silently from the shore across the way.

But guess what? It actually paid off. I caught enough Eversong Trout and Null Voidfish today to make a decent stack of gold. Not amazing gold, but enough that I don’t feel completely useless. Mining is probably a better use of my time gold-wise, but something about being near water that completes me the way mining doesn’t.

At the end of the night I mailed the whole haul to Abeke with a little note:

“Little sis, sell these before they rot. Do NOT turn them into fish tacos again. We need gold for enchants.”

Because that’s the reality of gearing right now. Everything is stupidly expensive. One upgrade, a couple of gems, a single enchant, and suddenly I’m broke again. Repair bills after a bad night in rated BGs? Don’t even get me started.

Abeke, bless her chaotic heart, is even worse with money. She’s constantly broke because she refuses to sell any of the herbs she gathers while queuing. She’s out there hoarding Sanguithorn and Mana Lily like they’re going to print money later. Meanwhile she’s whispering me, “sis can I borrow 500g for my next enchant” every other day.

We’re a great team though. I fish, she gathers, we both cry over the Auction House prices, and somehow we’re slowly crawling toward Conquest gear. Baby steps.

Now if the queue would actually pop before I fall asleep on my fishing pole, that would be great.
